Former Chair of the We Care Network at Virgin Media O2

Luke Martin spent over 12 years with Virgin Media, then latterly Virgin Media O2, where he served as Co-Chair and later Chair of the We Care Network, the company's employee carer support community. Motivated by his own experience as a family carer, Luke helped shape Virgin Media O2's 5-day paid carers leave policy and the Adjustment Passport, and led the pilot of KareHero as an employee benefit. He remains an active advocate for unpaid carers, helping people recognise their role and find the support available to them.

What you'll learn

1 in 7 employees are carers.

Most don't tell their employer, and most businesses haven't built the support to help them anyway.

So how do you help hidden carers recognise themselves, and then support them properly?

In our latest webinar, we talk to Luke Martin, former Chair of the We Care Network at Virgin Media O2.

His network became a driver of real policy change, shaping Virgin Media O2's five days' paid carers leave and its Adjustment Passport.

What you'll learn:

The business case: Why paid leave and policies alone aren't enough

Setting up a network: Where to start, and how to win executive and leadership buy-in

Finding your hidden workforce: Practical ways to help employees recognise themselves as carers

The results: What changed when policy caught up with demand

Luke's story: Why this became personal, and what pulled him from advocate to network chair
